Kyoshi Ted Pastrick has been a member of the World Seido Karate Organization since 1981 when he began his training at the Seido honbu (headquarters) in New York City with Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura, the style’s founder and chairman. Kyoshi rose through the ranks, earning his shodan (1st degree black belt) in 1987. He is currently godan (5th degree black belt).
   Since 2000, Kyoshi Ted has offered Seido instruction in the greater Los Angeles area. He has had programs at Loyola Marymount University and the Culver City Adult School program. He was recently awarded the title of Kyoshi (master instructor) by Kaicho Nakamura.
   Kyoshi Ted is now owner and chief instructor of West Los Angeles Seido Karate-do in Culver City.

Senpai Tony DeAngelis is a 3rd degree black belt in Seido Karate. He began his karate training under Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura in New York City in 1986. He received his black belt (shodan) in 1995. Senpai Tony began his instructor training in1995, initially working with adults with developmental disabilities at the Young Adult Institute (YAI) in New York City. In 1998 Senpai Tony moved to the Los Angeles area. He has made his career in pediatric occupational therapy, currently working for the Los Angeles Unified School District as a school-based occupational therapist. He presently trains under the supervision of Kyoshi Ted Pastrick, and is happy to be instructing at West Los Angeles Seido Karate.

Senpai Rhoda Brown is a 1st degree black belt in Seido Karate. She began her karate training under Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura in New York City in 1984 as a teenager. She moved to Atlanta Georgia to attend college in 1989, then moved to Los Angeles in 1993 upon graduation. She rejoin Seido in 2003 with West LA Seido and received her black belt (Shodan) in June of 2005. She currently resides in Sun City with her mother and works in the health insurance industry. She currently trains under the supervision of Kyoshi Ted Pastrick at West LA Seido Karate.
